Vivek Mathew is a professional photographer from Bangalore, India. He
cut his teeth in photography at one of Asia's premier institutions,
The Light & Life Academy, Ooty, India. He passed out of the school in
2004 and specializes in fashion, people, fine art, travel,
documentary, nature, architecture, interiors and industrial
photography.
Vivek has been featured in the India Today Magazine as one of
the modern day "Young and Unusual" photographers in Bangalore. His
photographs have been featured in many publications like the Times
Journal of Photography, Design Today, etc. He has also shot of several
campaigns for advertising agencies in India.
Vivek Mathew's skill and popularity stems from his ability to bring
alive and surprise people with his eye the beauty that exist in
mundane, everyday things.
Vivek Mathew came into the limelight with his highly
successful solo exhibition 'I. Opener' in Bangalore on October 2005 at
the Renaissance Gallerie. The exhibition consisted of 32 images on
various subjects ranging from still life to portraits and exteriors.
This was followed up with "Waterborne" at Industree in November 2007.
The exhibition had 27 images on display where he successfully
experimented with water-based subjects like ripples, patterns,
reflections, refractions, etc.
Vivek also participated in the Bangalore Photography Festival
in April 2007 at the Leela Galleria. He also participated in "ShootOut at Ranga Shankara" which was part of the Theatre Festival at
Ranga Shankara in Oct 2007 and was curated by photographer Pallon
Daruwala. He recently participated in a group exhibition "Behind the
lens" which was currated by Ajay Rajgarhia from Delhi at the Mahua Art
Gallery in Bangalore in February 2009.
His images are currently on display at the"Right Lines Gallery" located in Indiranagar, Bangalore and also at the Gallery Art & Design at Delhi.
